Rustenberg Wines in Stellenbosch is seeking to employ an assistant winemaker.

Please read all of the following criteria carefully:
This permanent position is only open to South African citizens.
This position is not suitable for new graduates and requires a considerable level of winery and wine making experience.

The suitable candidate should fulfill the following criteria to be considered for the position:
-Hold a post-graduate degree in oenology, preferably a masters level qualification
-Have a valid drivers license and their own transport
-Live no further than 45 minutes drive from the centre of Stellenbosch
-Have a valid forklift operator license
-Be fit and healthy and able to safely work in a physical winery environment
-Be prepared to work the long hours required during harvest
-To be able work well in a team and to both lead others and follow orders
-Have attained considerable experience both locally and abroad working in wineries
-Experience working in wineries pre and post vintage as well as vintage experience
-Considerable experience conducting laboratory work to exacting standards
-Extensive experience operating a bottling line
-A good knowledge of the safe operating and maintenance of winery machinery
-Experience operating various types of winery filtration systems
-An understanding of the requirements and dynamics involved to ensure a winery is WIETA and IPW compliant
